Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes, but artificial grass has come a long way and there are plenty of ways to mitigate the heat. For example, we don’t use crumb rubber infill any more - we use sand, which absorbs moisture, not heat. So you can quickly spray it down on a hot day and it will stay much cooler.
-
There is some maintenance required for your artificial turf. If you have dogs, we recommend not laying down a weed barrier under the turf and using a deodorizing spray every few months.
-
To keep your turf looking brand new, we recommend brushing it with a broom every few months. This helps the blades stand up and redistribute the sand infill.
-
It comes down to preference. Concrete is a more affordable option and allows you to add on to existing slabs, but it does crack and stain. Pavers are more expensive, but you don’t have to worry about cracking, there are tons of design options to choose from, and if a paver does get damaged, you can simply replace individual pavers without having to redo the whole area.
-
It depends on the scope of work, but a typical turf install under 1,000 square feet will take 1-2 days. For pavers we can install up to 300 square feet a day. And concrete takes about 1-2 days to form, 1 day to pour and finish, and 1 day to cure before you can walk on it.
